On April, 12th we visited the Alaffia factory in Olympia, WA . Among the visitors was H. E. David Gilmour, the U.S. ambassador to Togo, African Alaffia management team and members of Washington Legislature. This company has over 160 employees in Olympia and over 600 in Togo. Alaffia’s goal is to alleviate poverty and empower West African communities through fair trade of indigenous resources. Their programs include Maternal Health and Equality, School Projects, Bicycles for Education, and the Reforestation project. Since 2004 Alaffia has generated substantial positive impact for the people and communities through sales of their fair trade products. You can help support their efforts by visiting Alaffia.com and purchasing from one of their various collections. “Every Purchase Empowers mothers and Communities”
