2016 African Chamber of Commerce Trade and Activity Report

2016 was an amazing year for the ACCPNW…

From skills training programs for our local African community, to our monthly breakfast meetings, to delegation visits, to investment speakers, to networking conferences, and of course our Annual Africa Day Business Forum, we continue to forge ahead strengthening ties and facilitating relationships between the Pacific Northwest, USA and Africa. The ACCPNW was involved in a number of outreach and promotional activities this year, highlighted by three especially memorable events.

The first was our participation in GiveBig, which is an annual fundraiser organized by the Seattle Foundation. The ACCPNW was one of the organizations that helped collect almost $22 million in donations supporting the local nonprofit sector. The second major event was our Tanzania Roundtable Discussion, during which we had the privilege of hearing from His Excellency Wilson Mutagaywa Kajumula Masilingi, Ambassador of Tanzania to the United States.
The third major highlight of the year was the 18th Annual Africa Day Business Forum, held in November. The event was a huge success, and is discussed at length in this report. We look forward to planning the 19th Annual ADBF next year.
